Peer Review Policy
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Genetics and Applied Biotechnology (JGAB) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of published research.
Under this system, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial office performs a preliminary evaluation to ensure that the manuscript:
- falls within the scope of the journal
- meets basic quality and formatting requirements
- complies with ethical and publication standards
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors without external review.

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
- originality and novelty
- methodological soundness
- clarity and organization
- relevance to the journal’s scope
- significance of the findings
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer comments and recommendations, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor revisions required
- Major revisions required
- Reject
Authors are required to respond to reviewer comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly.
Review Timeline
The journal strives to complete the peer-review process efficiently while maintaining high scientific standards. The typical review period ranges from 2 to 6 weeks.
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or use any unpublished information contained in manuscripts.
